Mom has Alzheimer's....plain and simple. When a loved one is diagnosed with Alzheimer's or dementia, you feel totally helpless. Slowly our loved ones become frail and distant, and eventually it's up to us to care for our parents as they once cared for each of us.

Mom can't remember our names, or what day it is, or who the people are in the pictures of our family on the wall, But, when we walk in to see her where she lives, we call her Mom and she knows that in some way we belong to her and we love her.

"You were always there for me, and as far as I can see, it's the least I can do, to be there for you,
I'll hold your memories in my heart. "
taken from Memories of the Heart by Robin Grandin
